Education and experience:
Joëlle works as a scientist and project leader for the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), Centre for Health Protection, Department for Public Health Effects in the Netherlands. During the Dutch EU Presidency of the Council of the European Union (January-June 2016) she worked at the Dutch Ministry of Health Welfare and Sports in the team responsible for pharmaceutical legislation topics.
Between 2008 and 2013 she worked as a PhD student at the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Clinical Pharmacology of Utrecht University. Meanwhile, she also worked as a research associate at the Utrecht Centre for Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation at Utrecht University (the Netherlands).
She studied pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacoepidemiology at Utrecht University and was an exchange student at CEFAR (Centro de Estudos e Avaliação em Saúde) in Lisbon, Portugal.
Specialties: European regulation of medicinal products, pharmaceutical affairs/marketing authorization, off-label use, medicines utilization and project management.
